Like all living things, the Rottweiler needs to eat to be able to uphold its reputation of being a very powerful and imposing dog. It is important they not eat dog food that is made of bad meats and all these pseudo-protein mixes which can make the dog sick. Ask veterinarians for help in knowing the good brands. Owner can even spice it up by making it dry or wet, adding vegetables such as carrots to give some more nutrients.

Always have water nearby and accessible. It is very important that food intake be monitored. Food shouldn’t just be poured into a gigantic bowl and allow them to eat all they want. Rottweiler’s will literally stuff themselves until their bellies become so hard. This may lead them to the vet and even have their stomachs pumped. Also, giving them too much nutrients will cause their growth to accelerate, leading to hip and joint problems. So like the ole diet saying goes: “You can eat what you want but in moderation”.
